About me

The author should not remain a mystery to his readers, at least not completely. So what interesting things are there to report about me? Born in 1970 in East Berlin, I am part of the mythically romanticized Generation X and therefore already of a somewhat mature age. The historic milestones of my younger years – from the collapse of the political system into which I was born to the dawn of the digital age – have certainly shaped me. How could they not? What is much more important to me, however, is the fact that I was born with a love for language, literature and music, along with a curious yet skeptical view of the world. Whether that’s down to genetics, the universe, or some other higher power, I’m certainly grateful that it turned out that way.

Instead of the fine arts, I initially decided to pursue a career in graphic and web design. But I have always been writing on the side, and for about 20 years now I’ve been publishing my texts online. These were more or less serious articles, sometimes interviews, but mostly satirical commentary on current events. Since this was not my main profession and often unpaid, I was always able to maintain enough independence in terms of content and expression – for me, the crucial condition for writing at all. There is a reason interchangeable formatted content is the job of Artificial Intelligence these days. This leaves us humans to cultivate our own original voice and creativity.

Now that is exactly what this platform is intended for – to devote myself independently and without compromise to stories and themes far removed from the hot topics of the day. Some of these ideas have been slumbering as sketches for many years in boxes, folders, or somewhere else in the infinite depths of my long-term memory. As you can see, I like to take my time.
